Retail opportunies

~ Someone in nanaimo should open a stationary store that sells crazy fun correspondence worthy paper that’s better than the Staples/Michaels lame crap. They should put it beside the Tea Emporium maybe. Unless there’s something like that at Woodgrove now. I wouldn’t know. They should also open a musical instrument store in where the Liquidators is in the old Co-op building on Bowen. Because I can walk there in a few minutes at lunch. Maybe they should also sell stationary. Just throwing these ideas out there.

~ “Mind Transferal” by Davie Allen and The Arrows may be the hottest two minutes, fifty-one seconds ever recorded.

  1. I got a call for an interview with Coyote Cafe today, and they asked if I knew a “Jakob Rehli….rrrrr….rellly…uhhhh…..” and I said yes I did.

This bodes well, personal connections are always good news.

Ah, must be Tracy. She refuses to come to games night. Her LJ is chunklovessloth. I’ve heard her pronounce my name properly though…

  4. it was another girl that called me, but she referred to Tracy.

  5. mrdapper says:

Well, hopefully she didn’t say, “Ask if he knows that crazy mofo Jakob Rehlinger.”

  6. I can neither confirm nor deny that statement

  7. mrdapper says:

I will neither confirm or deny I may have gone a little overboard with a gift of a book on Taoism I made for her.

  8. if there was a stationary store in nanaimo, it would spoil the fun of having to take a ferry and a few sky trains in order to obtain truly note-worthy writing materials.
also, that store in woodgrove closed down a while ago and had all it’s stationary on sale for cheap. you should have thought about this sooner.

    “note-worthy”! ha!

  11. Here’s the skinny…

Nadia was looking at resumes and asked how to pronounce “Kai”. The name sounded familiar, and I was pretty sure I’d seen it on LJ. So, Nadia decided to ask him if he knew Jake…

P.S. Jakob, I really enjoyed the Taosim book. Especially the end; it was lovely. And the absence of ying yang is okay too. I forgive you

    Yayaya. i been typo’d!

    um, not those coffee carts…

    Re: Here’s the skinny…

Well, good. Though I feel not writing about yin/yang only gives you half the picture. It’s like writing about christ and leaving out the crucifiction. Or writing only about that crucifiction nonsense and leaving out his more secular teachings about love and peace.

when i was a teenager and that old fire station building on the corner between nicol st. and victoria rd. was still empty i always wished i was a zillionaire so i could buy the whole building and live in part of it and open a live music venue/rehearsal space/record store/music gear store/book store/STATIONARY store

for serious. it was before i was introduced to the internet so i still had a real appreciation for good paper and envelopes for long distance correspondance

i suppose i would only have needed to be a millionaire
and would quickly been absolved of all my riches

Opportunity is not lost, Nathan, that building is still empty!

Nathan, do you ever see Anitra? Or the blonde guy she always hung out with who I’m feeling really bad about forgetting his name. And I think it was his brother who always used to ask me out, and I always had a boyfriend, but he was so sweet I felt bad.
      This is Rose btw.

      • nathandrama says:

        hi rose.

i never see anitra. i ran into her once like a year and a half ago. and once before that like two years earlier. not much help to you i suppose.

i see stefan sometimes. the blonde guy. he usually is playing in eight or nine different punk and/or metal bands at a time.

was it his brother that always was asking you out? that would be evan. i never see him but i know he’s around these parts somewhere

      • ms_dirtnap says:

Stefan and Evan, of course. How time doth weaken the mind.
