The Return of Ramshackle: Thursday, March 2nd, 2006
I’m shaking off the shackles and bringing the annual “freak-folk” fest Ramshackle back to life. I’m sure we all missed Ramshackle in 2005 but the wait should prove to be worth it as Akron/Family are headlining and have a reputation for being one of the best live acts in North America today. This is the first year co-founder Andrew MacGregor isn’t directly involved but he did set the (entirely motionless) wheels in motion by getting Akron/Family’s booking agent in contact with me.
Also playing is (the probably soon to be renamed) League of Fantastic which features members of Partli Cloudy and The Clap and (Rose Dickson’s) Dirtnap.
That’s a fantastic looking poster by the way.
Do you know if there’s any up arounf town still?
I saw one on the bulletin across from the bldg I work in. Its the one across from the Royal Bank.
seems to me someone is tearing posters down. i suspect someone involved with the queens.

Yes, nice use of that light teal. You managed to make it look very fresh indeed.
I didn’t know light teal was out of vogue. My ignorance makes me cutting edge.

We’ve always been big-time.
Will Oldham and Sunburned Hand of The Man were supposed to play the first one. When it was going to be in a remote meadow in Courtney.
Re: We’ve always been big-time.
as much as i hate dirty hippies, thats what ramshackle’s all about. or at least thats what i thought.
