Listened to the new New Order today at work, and paid attention. I’d heard it referred to as “their best album since Technique“. Which is true. Technique is also a crappy album. Steve liked it though. I think I have to grudgingly admit The Ponies album is really good. In spite of my active attempts to hate it. Because blending early Wire, early Cure, early Jam, and some Joy Division is just too played out to enjoy. Except it’s really rather quite good. Steve liked it.
Went to see Gardener’s movie. It was a raucous crowd. Arty boomers trying to prove they’re unconventional. Anyway, Bill and Rich were very entertaining. I thought Cooper could have had a bigger part. They also played Naked Driving which I thought I’d gotten away with never seeing. I think Brown should really wear his hair like that.
After the movie, Matt wanted to buy records but neither Jennifer nor I would open the store for him. Then you’ll never guess… When we left, our car was passed by a girl in a go-kart buzzing down Church St. I didn’t see that coming. Jennifer and Chrissy must have almost hit her in her dad’s shiny red sports car.
On the way home Chelsea saw a car that had a huge Tinkerbell on the ponk back window and the name “Tinkerbell” in huge pink glittery writing.
